journey into grace

Believe

God is Love (1 John 4:7-8).  He is full of grace and mercy (Hebrews 4:6, John 1:14, Psalm 86:15). Even when man sinned (all of us have since the Fall – Romans 3:23, Genesis 3:6, Romans 5:12), God promised and delivered a solution (Galatians 4:4-5) for our sin that was based solely on His Grace and not anything we could do or perform for ourselves or for Him (Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:4-6).  The only thing required of us to enjoy the Salvation Solution God offers is that we believe in Him (John 3:16-17, John 1:12-13, Romans 10:9-10).

Setting Anchor

Identify

When we believe in the “grace upon grace” (John 1:14-16) that is given to us through the finished work of Jesus (John 19:30), we literally become righteous (Romans 5:19, 2 Corinthians 5:21), forgiveness (Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:13-14) and have become totally new creations in the inner man (2 Corinthians 5:17). We are now sons and daughters of God and partakers of the divine DNA again (1 Peter 1:4).  We no longer have a nature bent on sin because it has been buried with Christ so that we can walk in our new identity (Romans 6:3-11).

Transformation

Renew

Grace works!  When we partner with God’s gift of grace, we are no longer trapped by sin (Hebrews 12:1-2, Romans 6) but empowered instead by the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5).  As we focus on who God is, and by extension, who He has made us to be in Christ (Ephesian 1:3-14), we are transformed (2 Corinthians 3:16-19) on the outside to match the transformation that is already complete on the inside.  By renewing and disciplining our minds (Romans 12:1-2, Ephesians 4:22-24, 2 Corinthians 10:4-5), we are partnering with God’s grace to conform our outward lives to our new inward reality.

Reign in Life

Live

Let God’s grace have its perfect work in you (2 Corinthians 6:1).  Live from the gifts of acceptance and identity that were given to you by the Grace of God.  Grace empowers you to good works that are motivated by a real faith in God’s character and nature (Ephesians 2:8-10, Hebrews 6:1, Romans 14:23).  The joy of salvation by grace is that we get to live connected to God while we are being transformed and empowered from the inside-out to be just like Him again!  And what’s the cherry on top?  When we partner with God’s grace we actually get to “reign in life” (Romans 5:17-18).
